LEGEND LANES was the hang out of choice for all the stars when they were passing through town. The location of this bowling alley was top secret, however I have heard that it was somewhere on East Council Street. Rumor has it, that after their shows in Charlotte, they would make the drive up I-85 to Salisbury just to enjoy some private time with friends, relax while bowling a few games, and drinking some of that refreshing CHEERWINE.
It was not uncommon to hear stories around town of famous movie stars being spotted, loading up there limos with cases of CHEERWINE. There is no official proof of these rumors, however there has been bags of CHEERWINE bottle caps found in California. Speaking of stars, this apron is one itself. It is a must when having an old fashion North Carolina BBQ.
This is a CHEERWINE blanket I picked up a few years ago. I have never seen another one, but I am sure they are out there. They were produced by Burlington Coat Factory. What a great way for a CHEERWINE fan to stay warm.
This was a neat paper item I also picked up a few years ago. It is a receipt for 3 cases of CHEERWINE for...get this...only $2.40!! WOW, now those were the days!! I am always looking to find other CHEERWINE paper items, so if you can help me in anyway, please send me an email below. I look forward to hearing from you.
This was a CHEERWINE shelf I got in Kannapolis, NC. It is a great way to display some of my items. These shelves were used in stores to hold 2-liter bottles. From the Blues Brothers to the King, CHEERWINE could have had something to do with their wild dancing! :-)
If Legend Lanes really existed, I bet many hands of cards were delt late into the night. What better cards to use, than some CHEERWINE playing cards?? I can see Jerry Lee Lewis now, holding his cards in one hand and a CHEERWINE in the other.
Here are few unique CHEERWINE collectables. The golf bag was made from a man in Salisbury using a CHEERWINE can. Also pictured is a CHEERWINE fly swatter. That way, if any flies would try to steal your CHEERWINE, you could give them a swipe of GOOD CHEER!! LOL :-)
These are CHEERWINE walkie talkies that were only used in promotions for a very short time. They are great for CHEERWINE fans, both young and old.
This is another one of my box cutters. The other one can be seen on the next page .
From Buddy Holly to Bill Haily, these legends do live on. CHEERWINE has also become a legend in itself. Just like Dr. Pepper was a local drink in Texas that grew to what it is today, CHEERWINE is following in it's footsteps. With strong Southern roots, this burgandy soft drink is expanding very quickly. I hope that people who used to live in NC and grew up on CHEERWINE will one day be able to get it in the part of the country where they live today. Until then, we will have to ship it anywhere in the country for our die hard fans. I personally have shipped CHEERWINE everywhere and have taken it to 7 different countries and almost every state in the USA. On my vacations, I would always pack 2 suit cases full of CHEERWINE and take only 1 for clothes. You can tell I had my priorities in line! LOL LOL :-) Click the icon below to see more great CHEERWINE oldies.
